The Yaiza City Council is undertaking this week the installation of solar streetlights for public lighting in the streets Los Lomos and Hoya de Antón in the town of La Degollada, with ten photovoltaic panels and their davits in each of them, and then proceed to install six units in the barbecue areas of the La Degollada picnic area, three more in El Farmacéutico street in Yaiza and another eleven units in La Coladera street in the urban center of this same town.

Mayor Óscar Noda highlights about this action “the use of photovoltaic energy on public roads and the cost savings in pipelines, wiring and especially in electricity supply, in addition to the respect of the facilities to the aesthetics of our towns”.

Apart from these actions that the Administration carries out with its own resources and municipal workers, Yaiza has drafted two more projects to continue advancing in public lighting with clean energy that foresee 168 solar lights in other streets of the towns of Yaiza and Uga.
