The Department of Social Welfare, Equality, Youth, Childhood and Families of the Government of the Canary Islands has increased by two two million euros the credit for the partial financing of the high-requirement residence that the Cabildo of Lanzarote is building in Tahíche (Teguise).
The action aims to partially finance the project promoted by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, intended for the construction of the “Socio-Health Center for Seniors and Day Stay Center”, located on Arcipreste de Hita Street, which will have 75 residential places and 50 day stay places.
It is a specialized resource for elderly people in a situation of dependency who require a medium-high level of socio-health care, the Canarian Government has recalled.
This project, which has already been subject to funding by the Directorate General for Dependency in the two immediately preceding fiscal years (2024 and 2025), within the framework of the strategic planning for the expansion of socio-health resources in the field of dependency, is an action of structural and continuous nature, whose execution requires guaranteeing the adequate budgetary allocation in the current fiscal year to ensure its culmination.
The projected infrastructure complies with the criteria established in the Resolution of July 28, 2022, of the Secretary of State for Social Rights, by which the Agreement of the Territorial Council of Social Services and of the System for Autonomy and Care for Dependency is published, on common criteria for accreditation and quality of SAAD centers and services.
