"Tinajo needs a new approach." This is what Saray Hernández, a young businesswoman from the municipality who will be the candidate for Mayor for Nueva Canarias, a party that, it should be remembered, will be running in the elections in alliance with Somos Lanzarote, has stated.
Hernández works in the tourism sector and has decided to take the step into politics after Armando Santana and Olegario Vizcaíno proposed it to her, with whom she has acknowledged maintaining a "great" friendship. "They have trusted me and NC is a party with which I have always felt affinity. They are well organized and that has also reinforced my decision", she said.
Thus, after "meditating" with her family and friends, she decided to give them "the yes I want". "And I take it with great responsibility and also as a great challenge, because removing Jesús Machín will be a titanic struggle", said the aspiring Mayor of Tinajo.
Forming "a good team" and "listening to the needs of the citizens"
Her first step as such, she said, "is to form a good team, which is eager to work", which she hopes to announce in the coming days. "And most importantly, know every corner of the municipality and listen to the needs and concerns of citizens," she added.
"We have to work hard on social areas, agriculture and especially tourism," says Saray Hernández, who wants to create "a leisure center to meet" for young people. "Be clear that with NC and with me at the head for Tinajo, we will work to improve the municipality, because it can always be done", she concluded.
