The San Bartolomé City Council has announced that from the month of October the project aimed at promoting meetings between residents of the municipality El Buchito de Café will be launched again.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, pointed out that this initiative began in 2002 and has more than 20 years of history. “As a result of the pandemic, the meetings were suspended and, given the demand and the great acceptance that the project has always had, we want to start a project again that promotes leisure, culture and activities related to the heritage and environment of San Bartolomé among the people of the municipality”.

“This activity is organized in accordance with our social policy, focused on people and the well-being of residents, adding to the numerous cultural, heritage and social activities and events that we always try to adapt for all ages and conditions, and we will continue to do so with El Buchito de Café and other future initiatives”, the mayor pointed out.

The Councilor for Equality, Mónica de León, celebrated the return of the event, assuring that it is "an ideal opportunity for people of all ages to share pleasant and enriching moments in locations in the municipality, in the best company, with varied and interesting themes and with the traditional coffee or infusion".

The sessions will begin on October 1, at the Casa Ajei in San Bartolomé, and will continue on October 9, at the Güime Civic Center; on October 15, at the Montaña Blanca Civic Center, and on October 22, at the El Islote Civic Center. These will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and will be taught by the Mararía Association, financed by a subsidy through the Equality Area of the San Bartolomé City Council.

The objective is to extend this project to all corners of the municipality and the intention is to replicate it in the future, so that each week El Buchito de Café is a space for debate, exchange of opinions and experiences or leisure, which once again stages the proposal that more than two decades ago arrived in the municipality to respond to the needs of the population.
