The San Bartolomé City Council summoned the residents of Playa Honda, whose homes are affected by the noise easement, to report on the Acoustic Insulation Plan in the surroundings of the César Manrique de Lanzarote airport.

From the Consistory they explain that in these meetings, called before the arrival of letters sent by AENA to the residents, they explained in a simple and detailed way "the criteria for inclusion in the Insulation Plan". The explanation of the City Council detailed "the purpose of the soundproofing actions, the phases for the execution of the Plan, the information on monitoring and management bodies, and the procedures that citizens must carry out to request inclusion".

The person in charge of the explanation was the lawyer and president of the Association of Jurists against Noise, Yomara García Viera, who in all the meetings was accompanied by the mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, the Councilor for Economy and Finance, Antonio Rocío and the Councilor for Urban Planning, Marlene Romero. Likewise, in each of the sessions the attendees were provided with the application document in the Acoustic Insulation Plan. They also point out from the City Council that in the course of the different meetings after the presentations, a round of questions was opened, which were answered on the fly.

From the San Bartolomé City Council they point out that in total there are 1,065 homes in Playa Honda, as well as 4 buildings for sensitive use (health, educational and cultural) "that may be eligible for acoustic insulation measures", as long as they meet the criteria determined by the Royal Decree. According to what is stated, those that meet these criteria are those homes and buildings for sensitive use "that are located within areas of the acoustic easement footprint and that have a building permit prior to September 28, 2021".

The mayor, Isidro Pérez, thanked all the people who attended the different rounds of meetings for their presence and reported that administrative and technical personnel will be made available to the neighborhood "in the Municipal Offices of the City Council in Playa Honda", to report on the doubts or questions raised by the processing of this document and provide them with the necessary documentation.

"From this City Council we will continue fighting for many more homes that we believe may also be affected by the acoustic footprint," added the mayor.
