The Department of Economy and Finance of the San Bartolomé City Council has delivered subsidies to the different associations, groups and associations of the municipality. Some aid that has been cut "considerably" and amounts to a total of 20,200 euros.
In this way, subsidies have been paid to the different AMPAs of the municipality's centers, for a total amount of 9,000 euros, distributed among the AMPA Lajar (IES San Bartolomé), AMPA Los Médanos de Playa Honda (IES Playa Honda), AMPA Tomare (CEIP Ajei), AMPA Ampolenco (Colegio Público de Güime), AMPA Chinijo Guaticea (CEIP Mº Auxiliadora de Montaña Blanca), and AMPA Sabor Guacimeta (CEIP Playa Honda).
In addition, the Department of Education will provide school vouchers for transportation to those students in the municipality who are studying non-compulsory studies (those after E.S.O.) in the municipality, or outside their locality, or have to move to other municipalities on the island, provided that they cannot study in their locality, with the application period open until November 9.
Likewise, aid has also been given to folklore, theater and the youth association, which has gone to the folklore groups La Peña, Tahod, Guadarfía, Municipal Theater Associations Somos, Yágamo, Ajei Theater Group, Raíces del pueblo and the El Punto Youth Association. In total, 11,200 euros have been paid.
María Dolores Corujo Berriel, councilor responsible for the areas of Education, Culture and Youth, has thanked the work carried out by the different groups "to spread culture, folklore and theater", while supporting "the effort and work carried out to promote associationism among young people and the work carried out by the AMPAs to develop activities with children and young people in the municipality's educational centers, which complements the range of extracurricular activities".
