María Dolores Corujo, Mayoress of San Bartolomé and Alexis Tejera, Councilor for Works, have congratulated each other on "the result and speed of execution of the conditioning and accessibility work on the first section of San Borondón Street, in Playa Honda."

This is a work that is carried out through the Agreement between the Ministry of Employment, Industry and Commerce of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Island Council of Lanzarote. Which consisted of paving sidewalks and resurfacing roads, creating a single platform, providing the area with gardening and urban furniture according to the needs of one of the busiest urban roads in the municipality.

The tender cost was 299,983.47€, with an execution period of 6 months, which has been reduced due to agility and good execution.

According to María Dolores Corujo, Mayoress of San Bartolomé, "the purpose of the same was to achieve integration between the shops and leisure places in this urban environment, enhancing the commercial attraction and improving the infrastructure of the area, in addition to improving the mobility and accessibility of users." She also expressed her satisfaction with the result.

In turn, Alexis Tejera, Councilor for Public Works and Services, highlighted the importance of having carried out a meticulous work of contact with the residents and merchants of the area, trying to keep them informed of every detail that could affect them. "It is about listening, before, during and after each intervention of this type to those who may be most affected, the residents and merchants; in this way everything will go more smoothly," said the councilor.

This is also a first intervention in San Borondón Street that is intended to be extended to the rest of the street, thus guaranteeing that accessibility in this municipality improves in addition to continuing to make interesting projects such as the "safe school route" a reality.

An intervention that has been accompanied during these months by asphalt works on other interior roads of this nucleus and others of the municipality.
