The general secretary of the PSOE of Tinajo, Manuel Quintana, has responded to the
statements made by the mayor of the town, Jesús Machín, in relation to the
resignation of the socialist councilor José Luis Bahillo, in which he criticizes the position of the
socialist formation.
In his response to the mayor, Quintana has assured that his party will continue
to be interested in the issues that concern the residents of Tinajo "despite the
annoyance this causes the mayor". "It is a legitimate and moral obligation of the Socialist
Association of Tinajo to inform and ask about all those issues, proposals or complaints
formulated by the citizens of the municipality; whether they are militants, sympathizers or residents of
Tinajo", he stated.
In this context, he pointed out that his formation has a battery of questions that he will bring
to the government group to be clarified. "If every time we ask a question
we receive an insult, it will be better for them to prepare a few because we still have
many questions left, for example, has the mayor discovered in his role as
Sherlock Holmes, the intruder or intruders who entered the Town Hall of Tinajo? Does he know if
they have been able to steal something of value, whether it be money or some type of documentation that is also
valuable?
Quintana Medina has also defended the work of his colleague José Luis Bahillo,
lamenting the attack carried out by the head of the local government. "One of the positive things about
Jose Luis, and he has many, is his integrity, that is, he says things looking you in the face. He
already stated his reasons, explained his reasons, whether people like it or not", he said.
Regarding the criticisms launched by Machín regarding his teaching work, he has insisted on asking for respect
towards professional practice, "which has nothing to do with politics". "I ask you please
to keep the center where I work out of political issues. In school, political
teachings are limited
to the contents of the Knowledge of the Environment area and from the Second Cycle of
Primary school, children are helped to understand concepts and understand what it is, but this cycle does
does not exist in the center where I work", Quintana pointed out.
The general secretary of the PSOE of Tinajo, has lamented that "this type of
disqualification is reached" in the exercise of public service and demanded respect and rigor. "For my part,
I have always maintained the discourse of not calling him any way and always addressing him in
polite terms".
