The Arrecife Citizen Participation Center, located in the Argana Alta neighborhood, hosted this Wednesday the V Island Public Works Table, organized by the Lanzarote Cabildo's own council, led by Councilor Jacobo Medina. At the meeting, the city councils were informed that the area will have more than half a million euros for the councils to facilitate the drafting of projects.

“Coordination between the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the seven city councils is essential to continue working on improving infrastructure and, consequently, the quality of life of the island's residents,” said Councilor Jacobo Medina.

In this way, the councilor assured that he collected the demands of the city councils “to, once analyzed, try to solve them in the order of urgency that the City Councils conveyed.”

Among the main agreements reached, he highlighted the improvement of the Road Conservation contract, which will allow optimizing road maintenance throughout the island territory.

Medina stressed that "this new contract will mean a significant improvement in the conservation of Lanzarote's roads, with more resources and more efficient management to guarantee the safety and comfort of users." He also stated that the new specifications for the Roadside Service contemplate an increase in staff, which will reinforce the maintenance and beautification work on the island's roads.

During the meeting, the need to continue advancing in the execution of road improvement projects in the different municipalities was also addressed, in addition to continuing to work on coordination between administrations to speed up the execution of key works for the development of the island.

The Public Works area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting modern and safe infrastructures, betting on improving road maintenance and conservation services for the benefit of citizens.
