The Port Authority of Las Palmas and the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote have signed a collaboration agreement for the publicity of the works contracts projected by the body that manages the public ports of the province in Los Mármoles and Puerto Naos. The creation of more than a hundred jobs and an investment of more than 1.6 million euros are the numbers of the agreement.

The purpose of the agreement is to give greater publicity to the contracting procedures for works convened by the Port Authority. It will be in force for two years and obliges the Chamber to publish on its website all the tenders called by Ports of Las Palmas and the latter to send the calls and to inform about the status of the works.

The first works to be carried out in this way belong to the investment plan for the development of employment in the Port of Arrecife. 1,625,500 euros will be invested in seven works and 113 jobs will be created, with a duration of between two and six months.

The planned works consist of the placement of sidewalks and paving of Masteleros street in Puerto Naos, the fencing of the operations area also in Puerto Naos, as well as the conditioning of the repair dock and new facilities for the port police and also for the Port Authority.

In the Los Mármoles dock, new facilities will be carried out for maintenance and, finally, in Puerto Naos the drainage network will be improved.
