The Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos group in the Cabildo has formally requested the drafting of a report by the legal services of the island council "that clarifies the controversy generated with the payment of some invoices for the San Ginés festivities.

"We already warned about this and in the plenary session we were very clear. Services were being contracted that were not included in the agreement and now the consequences are coming," declares Myriam Barros, referring to the complaint filed by Tecnosound for non-payment of said invoices and the investigation by the Provincial Prosecutor's Office.

In this regard, the formation recalls that the capital City Council and the Cabildo signed an agreement by which the first island institution took charge of the payment of the main events of the Arrecife patron saint festivities of last year for an amount of 375,000 euros.

However, it states that, as they already denounced in the extraordinary plenary session convened by the opposition to clarify the controversial organization and the "high cost" of the festivities, "said agreement did not clarify which institution was responsible for covering the lighting and sound expenses that the Arrecife City Council was contracting."

Also requests that responsibilities be determined

"None of the institutions involved in said agreement now want to pay said invoices because they understand that they are not responsible for them," add Lanzarote en Pie Sí Podemos, from where they affirm that, in response to the Prosecutor's questions, "the response from the Arrecife city council could have been that the requested information is held by the Cabildo of Lanzarote and not the Arrecife City Council."

"It is now up to the Cabildo to clarify who has to pay those 344,000 euros that Tecnosound is claiming and to determine responsibilities, because that agreement was a mess and it is going to cost the citizens dearly," concluded the councilor of Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, Myriam Barros, who on Thursday morning proceeded to register the request to the legal services of the first island institution.
