Podemos in Arrecife has called on the citizens of the capital to a meeting that will take place this Wednesday, May 17, at 6:00 p.m., at the Civic Center, to address the problem of housing in the municipality. "Far from being resolved, this problem is getting worse over time," warns the formation, referring to the high prices and also the current difficulty in finding apartments for rent.
Therefore, it considers that "it is necessary to organize civil society to raise awareness and collectively seek a way to alleviate such a fundamental issue as that everyone has a roof under which to live."
"Lanzarote is one of the places in Spain with the highest occupation rate due to high prices, coupled with the unemployment rate, low wages and the lack of alternatives or solutions from the administration," laments the formation, which adds that this is added to "the high demand for tourist rentals", which "is generating a serious habitability problem even to cover positions in sectors as vital as health or education".
As Podemos explains in the call, the meeting will hear cases and "address possible solutions, based on what is being done in other cities that have the same difficulties".
