The Lanzarote en Pie- Sí Podemos group in the Cabildo has called on groups, associations and unions to an assembly of "insular reconstruction", which will take place tomorrow Friday at 6:30 p.m. at its headquarters located in Arrecife.

The meeting, which will be held "respecting all sanitary prevention measures" according to the formation, aims to collect the collective needs and demands that organized civil society is detecting in this crisis generated by the health alert due to Covid. And it is that, the formation considers that "the Cabildo has not done the job of listening to all the groups" and is emerging "as the transmission belt between these and the administrations."

“While the Cabildo was meeting with the employers, social groups and associations have been waiting for months for a meeting with the president”, says Myriam Barros, spokesperson for Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos in the Cabildo.

The group invites all groups, associations and platforms of a social nature to the meeting to convey their proposals and "enrich" the debate. “We want people to feel supported by the administration, and if the Cabildo takes a back seat, we will be there to remind them that the only way to get out of this situation is to do it collectively”, says Myriam Barros

“We are concerned that the social shield deployed by both the central government and the Canarian government does not efficiently reach all the people on the island, because let us remember that essential areas for recovery, such as employment, tourism or public works, are in the hands of the party that wanted to boycott the European pact and leave the country adrift”, concludes Barros.
