The municipality of Yaiza will improve its pharmaceutical care services in these months. At the request of the Yaiza City Council, the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has modified the pharmaceutical map of the south of Lanzarote, which will allow the opening of two new pharmacies in the tourist and fishing town of Playa Blanca.
According to the Official Gazette of the Canary Islands on January 30, the Ministry of Health inserts the Order approving the Pharmaceutical Map of the Canary Islands.
The municipality of Yaiza, with 14,154 computable inhabitants, goes from the current three pharmacy offices to 5 with the upcoming opening of two new ones in the Montaña Roja and Las Coloradas urbanizations, both in Playa Blanca.
The current three are located in the urban center of Yaiza, and in the town of Playa Blanca.
The mayor of Yaiza, José Francisco Reyes, had made different requests through the plenary session to the College of Pharmacists of the Canary Islands and the Ministry of Health of the Canarian Executive in order to cover the new needs of the population in a term that exceeds 211 square kilometers of surface area.
After the opening of the two new pharmacy offices, the residents of the south of Lanzarote will be able to have face-to-face guards in these during the 24 hours of the day.
