In the Canary Islands, the nature that surrounds us is, in addition to landscape and heritage, also a source of inspiration for new ways to improve society through technology.

Under this approach, ISLAS VIVAS is born, an initiative of social innovation financed by the call from the Ministry of Universities, Science and Innovation and Culture, through the Canary Agency for Research, Innovation and Information Society (ACIISI).

The project has a clear objective: to facilitate that anyone, regardless of their technical knowledge, can turn a concern or idea into a structured project, a functional prototype, and an initiative with real funding potential.

To achieve this, ISLAS VIVAS offers citizens three cutting-edge technological tools: AI Mentor, an artificial intelligence assistant that guides the user step-by-step in creating impact projects. No-Code Environment, a platform that allows the development of digital prototypes without needing to know programming; and Blockchain Marketplace, a system that guarantees absolute transparency and traceability of the funds allocated to each project.

Promoted by the company KODE, and with a grant of 96,800 euros, the project will be developed between January 2026 and July 2027. Furthermore, the initiative includes a strategic pilot in two islands —one capital island and one non-capital island, such as El Hierro or La Palma— with the aim of validating its application in the different social and geographical contexts that coexist in the archipelago.

ISLAS VIVAS is one of the nine projects selected in the ACIISI social innovation call for the 2026-2027 period. These grants, which have nearly 100% of the budget financed, are aimed at responding to urgent social challenges through innovative solutions that improve the lives of the people of the Canary Islands.
