The PSOE of Lanzarote, through its counselor in the Cabildo, Benjamín Perdomo, has pointed out "the irresponsibility of the president Oswaldo Betancort in allocating 165,000 euros of public funds to the filming of the series La Reina del Flow". From the Socialist Group they consider that this decision reflects "a management marked by waste and lack of priorities, in a critical moment for the island".
Likewise, Perdomo has pointed out that "while during the last legislature it was the audiovisual platforms that paid to film in Lanzarote, we have gone on to pay with public money 165,000 euros for photos and videos of Oswaldo Betancort with artists".
"While Lanzarote faces water cuts, a housing emergency and saturation in its public services, Oswaldo Betancort continues to spend uncontrollably on superfluous projects and events that have no real impact on the lives of the people of Lanzarote. There is no clear island project, only waste", said Benjamín Perdomo.
The PSOE emphasizes that this expense "adds to a legislature characterized by excessive investments in parties and events, neglecting the real needs of the population." "The island government, led by Oswaldo Betancort, is more focused on headlines and striking acts than on solving the structural problems of the island. This improvised management only aggravates the situation in Lanzarote", added the socialist councilor.
From the Socialist Group they have asked for explanations to the president of the Cabildo and demand that "public resources be used to address the urgencies of the citizens." "Lanzarote needs a responsible government, with clear priorities and that puts the needs of the people of Lanzarote before media interests. Betancort's waste is unsustainable in the current context", concluded Perdomo.
