The Board of Directors of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has appointed Pedro Fraile Bonafonte as the new managing director of this Public Business Entity, after passing the selection tests to which nearly 70 people applied.
Pedro Fraile Bonafonte, 48 years old, has a degree in Law from the University of La Laguna. He also has a diploma in Criminal Law from the School of Legal Practice of Madrid, a university specialist in Management in Local Public Administrations. Until his incorporation to the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, he has been an official in the Cabildo of Lanzarote, forming part of the general Legal Services of the corporation, being especially entrusted with the defense and interposition of contentious-administrative appeals and criminal actions in some fields.
During his professional career, Fraile Bonafonte has served as a substitute judicial secretary and substitute judge in the Courts of Justice in the capital of Lanzarote and has been a speaker at the Conference on the Canary Law on the Legal Regime of Public Shows and Classified Activities.
The CEO of the Tourist Centers, Astrid Pérez, recalled that "the selection of the new manager was part of her priorities, given the dismantling of these positions by the previous councilor." The Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote have a staff of about 350 workers and a budget of close to 20 million euros for this year 2010.
