Hugo Delgado, a worker at the Centers for Art, Culture, and Tourism of Lanzarote and former Councilor for Waste Management, has declined to take office in the island's Cabildo after the resignation of Andrés Stinga last August to dedicate himself exclusively to the taxi sector in San Bartolomé. The next in line is Paula Corujo, Councilor for Youth and Education in the Cabildo during the last legislature, who will take office in the island institution.

For its part, the Socialist Party of Lanzarote has thanked Hugo Delgado for his "commitment, dedication, and responsibility over the last few years, both during his time as a councilor of the Cabildo in the last legislature and in the current one, in which he was part of the candidacy led by María Dolores Corujo."

Following the recent resignation of Andrés Stinga as councilor, it was Hugo Delgado's turn to join the Socialist Group in the Cabildo. However, personal and professional reasons prevent him from assuming this responsibility at this time, a decision that the party "deeply respects and understands, and that in no way diminishes the commitment he has always shown to the socialist project and to the citizens of Lanzarote and La Graciosa."

The general secretary of the PSOE of Lanzarote and deputy in Congress, María Dolores Corujo, wanted to publicly highlight his contribution: "Hugo is an example of commitment, loyalty, and discreet but essential work. His work as a councilor was fundamental in promoting progressive policies from the Cabildo, and in this legislature he has continued to support, from the socialist candidacy, the principles we defend for Lanzarote and La Graciosa. I can only have words of gratitude for everything he has contributed and will continue to contribute."

For his part, Hugo Delgado has conveyed words of gratitude to the party and to its island secretary: "I want to thank the Socialist Party of Lanzarote and María Dolores Corujo for the trust they have always placed in me. It has been an honor to be part of this political project and to contribute, from different responsibilities, to the progress of our land. I will always be grateful for the opportunity and for the affection received."

The PSOE of Lanzarote has thanked Hugo Delgado for his "career, his generosity, and his constant commitment, wishing him the greatest success in the personal and professional projects he decides to undertake from now on."
