The decongestion of the access areas to the Molina Orosa Hospital in Lanzarote is a pending issue on the Island, which is part of the programmatic commitment of Oswaldo Betancort as a candidate to preside over the Island Council in the section on Health and Public Health, the party reports.

An electoral proposal that ensures "can materialize in a few months since the 2,750 m2 plot adjacent to the hospital center was acquired in the stage of Pedro San Ginés as president, and that, together with another plot that is attached to the ITV of Arrecife, would add more than 3,000 m2 available to enable a parking area that would then be made available to the Canary Health Service", explains Betancort.

Oswaldo Betancort "does not understand how this project, which has had the relevant municipal authorization since 2021, has not been carried out", and adds that "it is not time to regret the ineffectiveness of the current government, but to seek urgent solutions to a pressing problem for all hospital users and workers in order to decongest access to the hospital as soon as possible with a new parking lot with more than 100 spaces -including several units adapted for vehicles of people with reduced mobility or disability- which could materialize in just three months."

"We will first solve the most priority to guarantee the quality of the health service on the Island after the patching and improvisation of Mrs. Corujo, and then be able to demand the planning and creation of new infrastructures, urging the Government of the Canary Islands to study the construction of a new Island Hospital and weave an Island Health Care Network with 24-hour emergency centers in the municipalities and the expansion of medical offices", he said.

"I regret that the Health area of the Government of the Canary Islands does not heed the demands of the doctors who practice in Lanzarote"

Likewise, Betancort, as a show of support for health professionals, has lamented that "the Health area of the Government of the Canary Islands does not heed the demands of the doctors who practice in Lanzarote, who are demanding an improvement in working conditions and the quality of patient care, and who have decided to make a stop as a protest, while the Ministry of Health and the government of the Pact of Flowers, led by Ángel Víctor Torres, looks the other way and considers that this strike is not affecting the quality of health care in Lanzarote", he concludes.
