Oswaldo Betancort and Cristina Calero have taken possession of their seats as parliamentarians of the Canarian Nationalist Group, in the first plenary session of the New political year that, after the summer break, is held from today Tuesday until tomorrow Wednesday in the Canarian Chamber.
As will be recalled, last July, Betancort and Calero took over from their colleagues Migdalia Machín and Pedro San Ginés, who left their respective positions after the former was appointed Minister of the Government of the Canary Islands and the latter was appointed senator for the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
For Oswaldo Betancort, this will be his second term as a parliamentarian, while Cristina Calero is sitting for the first time on the bench of the Nationalist Group.
In addition, the Lanzarote nationalists have a third deputy, David Toledo, who also holds the Presidency of the Parliamentary Group.
"CC Lanzarote has a great representation in Parliament. The strength that the party has on our island has been taken into account and now it is up to us to show those who have trusted us that they have not been wrong," said the island's secretary, Migdalia Machín.
For his part, the Secretary of Organization of CC Lanzarote, Echedey Eugenio, recalled that "there are many issues that the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa demand and that with our colleagues, we have a golden opportunity for all those vital issues that were hidden, can now be taken out of the drawer and solved."
