Seven years have passed since [Oscar->http://oscars-awards.com] Pérez Cabrera presented the first demo of a group called Oscartienealas (written all together). It had barely taken off and was already winning the Young Artists Contest of the Canary Islands. Thus, almost without blinking, the group came to share the stage with established artists such as Los Planetas or Los Ilegales. However, the formation dissolved.
After some solo performances, Oscartienealas returned to work in 2005, led by Óscar (vocals and guitar) and with José Suárez (drums) and Mame Hernández (bass) in its new ranks. If in their beginnings they rubbed shoulders with Los Planetas, during these years they will share a bill with Delorean, Mandalas or Jamiroquai himself. Therefore, no one was surprised that they swept La Caja Sonora, the contest that chooses the best group in the archipelago, among more than ninety formations.
But they don't just triumph in the islands. Oscartienealas has become one of the 10 indie groups that receive the most visits on Myspace, an online social network that mainly promotes music groups without a record contract. This is the case of the Lanzarote formation. "How to get rid of Oscartienealas once and for all" has been recorded by the Neptar studios in Arrecife and although its diffusion is modest, it is playing in important alternative venues such as Elástico or Sala Stereo.
Extensive technical deployment
In view of this good reception, the Cabildo believes that the capacity of 100 seats in the Buñuel cinema will be insufficient to accommodate all the public who will want to listen to the new album live. For this reason, it will project the concert in the Bar Picasso in El Almacén, with a wide deployment of media.
In addition, the show will be completed with performances by several DJs in different places in Arrecife. In the same Bar Picasso, once the concert is over, Dj Zé Pequeño will play. Afterwards, the music will move to the bar El Tambo, with the performance of Dj Soñadora. And to finish, the third stop will be at the Bar Tsunami, with the duel between Dj Talí Arenao and Dj Naranjito. Everything is little to support one of the independent Canarian groups with the greatest national and international projection.
