NC asks Oswaldo Betancort to avoid queues in the Centers with a system of scheduled visits

"It is not admissible that with the number of applications, supports, software and other computer tools there is no possibility of booking with established schedules in the Centers that are especially more sensitive to saturation", they point out.

From the electoral coalition of NC and UPY, with its two representatives in the first institution of the island, Óscar Noda and Daysi Villalba, have presented a motion to debate in the next plenary session of the Cabildo of Lanzarote where they will request the Government of Oswaldo Betancort to avoid the queues of cars and the degradation of natural spaces such as the Timanfaya National Park or Cueva de los Verdes in the face of the massive presence of tourists.

The councilors recall that recently the government of the Cabildo has made the unilateral decision to increase the prices of the Tourist Centers by up to 60%. They also recall that the main argument and justification of the promoters of applying this disproportionate increase has been to "value" the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote. "Therefore, and with the aim of "valuing" even more, if possible, the institution that represents for the islander the work of César Manrique and his legacy that we receive in the form of CACT, we strongly reject the queues originated in the Timanfaya National Park or even on the access road to the Cueva de Los Verdes." Defend the councilors Óscar Noda and Daysi Villalba.

"We believe that the value in the case of the Centers is not always related to money, although the current government only links it to this parameter, on the other hand, we think and defend that the "value" is intimately related to a good service, a good access, a good interpretive explanation of the environment and the artist, among many other conditions that would add value and dignify the figure of its creator." Insists the also mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda.

In addition, the proposing councilors recall the words of the president of the Cabildo in his inauguration in which he bet on the "Smart Island" project, as well as on sustainability and sustainable mobility, therefore, they do not understand that after 8 months in the government it is incomprehensible, and even paradoxical that those who defend the position of valuing the Centers continue to tolerate and protect the queues in Timanfaya and in the Cueva de Los Verdes. Argue Noda and Villalba.

"It is not admissible that with the number of applications, supports, software and other computer tools there is no possibility of booking with established schedules in the centers that are especially more sensitive to saturation. That is our proposal. "To value our CACT is simply to worry about the daily management and the improvement of the service provided, to contribute to generating a unique and exclusive experience, to promote through actions the creation of awareness about our fragile environment and to be pioneers in systems that reduce the presence of vehicles in a generalized way in these privileged environments", exposes Óscar Noda.
