Minister Reyes Maroto to present new campaign to support commerce in Lanzarote

The event, which will take place this Tuesday, November 10, in the Jameos auditorium, will also feature the Minister of Tourism of the Canary Islands, the President of the Cabildo, and the Director of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce.

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, and the general director of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce, Inmaculada Riera, will present this Tuesday, November 10, in the Los Jameos Auditorium, the new campaign to support commerce, one of the sectors most affected by the economic consequences of COVID-19.

The presentation, which will take place at 5:00 p.m., will also be attended by the Minister of Tourism of the Government of the Canary Islands, Yaiza Castilla, the President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, as well as the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote, José Torres Fuentes, and representatives of business associations and social agents.

With the slogan 'Raising a blind is opening a country', the objective of the campaign is to "bring the consumer closer to our commerce, which has reinforced health security measures", as well as to highlight its economic importance, with a weight of 13% in GDP and more than 2 million direct jobs; and to highlight "the structuring effect on cities and small municipalities". At the end of the presentation, around 6:30 p.m., the minister will take a tour of commercial establishments in the center of Arrecife.
