A total of 84 people of sub-Saharan origin arrived at around 8:30 a.m. this Monday at the port of Los Cristianos, in Tenerife, aboard the Maritime Rescue vessel "Salvamar Alpheraz", according to the Government Delegation.
The immigrants had to be transferred to the "Alpheraz" vessel since the small boat in which they were traveling was sinking. The Civil Guard escorted the "undocumented immigrants" to the port area with the "Río Palma".
The sub-Saharans gave a statement at the Police Station of Playa de Las Américas, and were later transferred to the internment center of Las Raíces.
