The island's three marinas have signed the contracts this Friday to join the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society. Rafael Lasso Lorenzo, representing Marina Rubicón, and José Calero Prats, on behalf of Puerto Calero and the Arrecife port of Marina Lanzarote, signed these agreements together with the Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Echedey Eugenio, and the CEO of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL), Héctor Fernández.
"The incorporation of these important companies into the island's promotion strategy is a relevant qualitative step, since the three marinas of Lanzarote are an undeniable source of entry to the island for nautical-sports tourism, a quality segment with high purchasing power that directly and indirectly moves and energizes many sectors of the island's economy," Eugenio highlighted. Likewise, the councilor considers that "the promotion of the destination is strengthened through joint debate and collective decision-making, incorporating highly qualified voices in a sector closely related to sports and activities at sea, which is undoubtedly a very important part of the tourist physiognomy that characterizes us as a destination."

The CEO of SPEL, Héctor Fernández, also spoke along the same lines, stating that "the agreement reached with companies of this nature brings notable strategic value to the SPEL project and represents a reinforcement of great notoriety for the entity's objectives, since it not only unites the destination as a whole, but specifically strengthens the promotion of Lanzarote as a nautical-sports destination of international reference, forming an essential part within the European Sports Destination project, a brand that is one of our priority lines of promotion in which we are investing and adding significant efforts."
For his part, Rafael Lasso, representing Marina Rubicón, highlighted that with the signing of this agreement, "continuity is given to the work that began many years ago and is the result of the close mutual collaboration that we have been maintaining as a sports destination." Likewise, José Juan Calero Prats, on behalf of the Calero Marinas group, expressed his conviction that "this agreement will be very effective and powerful to highlight Lanzarote as a nautical tourism destination worldwide."

With the agreement signed in the Board Room of the Marina Lanzarote Captaincy building in Arrecife, Héctor Fernandez believes that "the evolutionary development of this entity as a public-private management body adopted within the Board of Directors in July 2013" "continues to consolidate." According to him, "the incorporation of entities and companies as sponsors of SPEL is a formula that is working very well" and recalls that for three years, the Cabrera Medina Group, Autos Faycan, Rancho Texas, Hospiten, Líneas Marítimas Romero, the MICE hotels, the island's two golf courses and the Aquapark of Costa Teguise, among others, have joined Turismo Lanzarote.
