In the press conference that took place last Monday, the PSOE of Teguise takes stock of the four years of mandate, both of the current government of the Canarian Coalition and of its work as the main opposition party. As the ¨legislature¨ draws to a close, the socialists consider that "these last four years have been a setback for the municipality" and confirm that "a political change is needed in Teguise from the next 28M", as stated by the spokesperson and socialist candidate Marcos Bergaz.
The socialist group took the opportunity to convey a hopeful message "we want to recover the leadership that Teguise should never have lost, for this, we will work until the last day to earn the trust of the social majority of Teguise and La Graciosa. They can be sure that from the Government we will ensure the interest of all the citizens of Teguise, without distinction, because in this municipality we are all important", he reveals.
"Either because the government of the Canarian Coalition has been more occupied with the departure of Oswaldo Betancort from Teguise than with the municipal management, and because the fourteen years in the government of the nationalists wears anyone out. In addition, the loss of leadership with respect to other municipalities on the island is evident, and we want to reverse this situation", they lament from the socialist ranks.
"Aware of this, from the firm and constructive opposition carried out, we have tried to help the government. But there has been no way, they never heeded the outstretched hand of the main opposition party" - Bergaz emphasizes - "hence the one hundred and fifty proposals presented; but also the warnings to the Canarian Coalition about the massive breach of the electoral promises they made in the last elections and how much remains to be done in the municipality".

"The longed-for municipal swimming pool, the pavilion in Costa Teguise, the improvement of basic infrastructures, the renovation of parks and gardens, the updating of planning, street cleaning, the visor on the La Villa football field, and an endless number of actions - points out the socialist candidate - remain in the trunk of memories of a government, that of the Canarian Coalition, which diminishes the leadership of Teguise in favor of other municipalities".
He clarifies that "it was our obligation to remind them, as an alternative to the current government, and this has occupied our political action until the end of this 'legislature', as demonstrated by the recent request for an extraordinary plenary session formulated to address three outstanding issues of the mandate that ends: the urban skeletons of Costa Teguise, the state of the municipal green areas and the absence of Budgets for 2023, a fundamental instrument to respond to many of the pending neighborhood demands", emphasizes the socialist leader.
During his speech to the media, the socialist spokesperson, accompanied by several members of his team, defended "the necessary political alternation that must occur in Teguise, after fourteen years of nationalist government, which exhausts anyone, and a last mandate that confirms the need for a change in the municipality".
"We are committed to political change in Teguise and La Graciosa, to give a new impetus to the municipality, to which we commit ourselves after four years of work with rigor and transparency from the opposition, having even made known issues that the current government wanted to silence", Bergaz emphasized to highlight among them, "the millionaire sentences that the government has had to face, for the Tahiche and Inalsa cases, the judicial warnings for the passivity of the mayor in knocking down the urban skeletons, the lack of investments and embellishment of the towns or the reluctance to activate a modernization plan for Costa Teguise", he lists.
