Lanzarote Avanza and CC have sealed their government pact this Friday to turn Yaiza "into an island and Canary Island benchmark", according to the acting mayor of the municipality, Óscar Noda, who will take up the baton again this Saturday. "We are pleased that we can sign this pact and especially that it does not only remain in this," said the island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, who believes that with this agreement "firm steps are being taken so that an integration of Lanzarote Avanza into CC can materialize in the future."

"We have not talked about integration, but we do understand that steps are being taken so that we can see in the future," Machín pointed out. "But we still have a way to go for that," said the island secretary of CC, who nevertheless stated that she hopes that this path "will end in a positive way."

"It is too early to talk about integration," said the elected mayor of Lanzarote Avanza, Óscar Noda, who stressed that the important thing now "is to work together for Yaiza and then the path will be walked and we will see."

"The pact respects the decision of the voters"

During the presentation of the pact, Noda highlighted the "similarities" that unite both formations and that, according to him, has been what has led them to sign this pact. "This agreement, first, respects the ideology, because they are two formations of similar ideology, nationalists; it respects the decision of the voters at the polls because they have been the two most voted parties; and it also respects the trajectory of the last elections, in which the majority formations have always been nationalists," said the elected mayor of the southern municipality, who believes that "we must fight for Yaiza to be a nationalist municipality."

"And Ángel Domínguez is a man of experience, who has been in politics for years and defending that nationalist and what better candidate to defend our land than someone of the same ideology," he added.

"Something that we have been looking for for some time materializes," said the island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, who highlighted the "help" received from the mayor of Teguise and elected parliamentarian, Oswaldo Betancort, so that "this alliance could be given." "It was a pending issue to retake the south," Machín acknowledged, referring to the years in which Coalición Canaria governed this municipality with José Francisco Reyes.

"We come with the intention of working, of contributing our grain of sand and of translating our ideas to improve the lives of the residents of Yaiza, especially in social and housing issues and all that work that they have been doing in this time, we are going to support it and work on it," said the head of the list and elected councilor of CC, Ángel Domínguez, who although he had been very critical of Óscar Noda and his government group in the previous term, now highlighted the "good harmony" existing with him.

Without defining the distribution of areas

Regarding the distribution of councilorships, the elected mayor has indicated that it is still to be defined. "What we can assure today is that Ángel Domínguez will be the deputy mayor," said Óscar Noda who, regarding the councilorships, said that "there are details to be defined." "And surely we will reach a good understanding without any problem, but I have not even defined yet with my people who is going to occupy each area," he added.

On the other hand, Noda has spoken about the first measures that will be executed within the government group, pointing out that "the projects started will continue" such as the Sports Hall, which is out to tender, "and with the urban part that remains to be completed." "And improve security, the endowments of the Police, continue with the reception of urbanizations that many are already received lacking the pertinent formalization, improve the garbage service contributing ideas from both parties, recover and promote the cultural, patrimonial and social repertoire and also improve social affairs," he detailed.
