This Tuesday the presentation of the XVI National Meeting of Rescue in Traffic Accidents (ENRAT) took place, an event that turns the Island "into the epicenter of security in Spain." This was announced by the Vice President of the Cabildo and President of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Marcos Bergaz, while announcing that it will take place on June 8, 9 and 10.

From the Corporation they explain that the program planned for ENRAT 2022 includes days "full of learning in the field of security and rescue." The rescue maneuvers, open to the public and totally free, will take place at the Arrecife Fairgrounds during the three days of programming.

In them, 16 teams from different points of the geography of Spain, and from abroad, will join forces to share and improve techniques in order to achieve the greatest efficiency in terms of security. The organic meetings of the Association of Consortiums and Fire Services of Spain (ConBé) will be attended by the members and invited presidents of 23 Consortiums or fire services from all over the country.

In addition, the Cabildo points out that proposals for the better functioning of the consortiums, as well as intervention processes in the event of any accident, will be carried out in them. Regarding the educational field, two aspects have been proposed. On the one hand, the 1st Technical Conference on Intervention in Traffic Accidents will be held, where training and knowledge will be imparted for the improvement of rescue work in theoretical bases for the participating teams.

On the other hand, with the aim of "defending, promoting and publicly projecting the prevention, fire extinction and rescue services", the ENRAT has organized, in conjunction with the MAPFRE Guanarteme Foundation, recreational-educational activities for primary, secondary and training cycle students. During these educational days, the youngest will have the opportunity to train in the basic knowledge of first aid, road safety and fire prevention in the home.

Meeting aimed at all audiences

During the presentation, the president of the Lanzarote Security Consortium, Marcos Bergaz, stated that “this is a meeting aimed at all audiences, from fire teams, to security professionals, to hundreds of schoolchildren who will participate in various training events”, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between security and education bodies of the youngest, "as key to risk prevention".

On the other hand, the activity coordinator of the Mapfre Guanarteme Foundation, Laura Ojeda, reinforced this idea and points out that for the foundation it is a pleasure “to be part of this extensive program of activities, and that we continue working together for the benefit of the population”. The director of operations of the World Rescue Organization, Kevin Lennon, announced that the International Meeting of Rescue in Traffic Accidents will be held in Lanzarote next year, where there will be more participating teams and an extensive program according to the event.

Finally, the vice president of the Professional Association of Rescue in Traffic Accidents, Josetxo Andueza, said he was grateful for the welcome and warm welcome, after the suspension of the meeting for two consecutive years.
