This Tuesday, filming wrapped on the new movie Bitter Christmas by film director Pedro Almodóvar in Lanzarote after 45 days of intense work, during which the island was transformed into a natural set.
In his Instagram profile, Agustín Almodóvar, film producer and brother of the famous director, emphasized that the recording has finished after many days of "intense, complex, and sometimes very difficult work because it was a filming done entirely in natural settings".
Bitter Christmas will premiere in 2026 and has been filmed between Lanzarote and Madrid. One of the first images taken on the island was on the beach of Charco de los Clicos, in the southern town of El Golfo.
The feature film is produced by El Deseo and stars Bárbara Lennie, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Aitana Sánchez-Gijón, Victoria Luengo, Patrick Criado, Milena Smit, and Quim Gutiérrez.
In addition, the filming included extras from Lanzarote between 7 and 75 years old, who were paid for the work done and registered with Social Security.
