Storm Therese continues to leave intense gusts of wind in Lanzarote, directly affecting airport operations. This Friday, March 20, the Lanzarotewebcam platformLanzarotewebcam captured the moment when a plane was forced to abort its landing at César Manrique airport due to adverse weather conditions.

In the images it is observed how the aircraft, Jet2holidays flight LS1111 from Birmingham, attempts to land unsuccessfully, finally executing a maneuver known as “engine and to the air” or go-around.

According to what air traffic controllers explained through their social network X, this procedure is completely habitual and is part of air safety protocols. Although for passengers it can be a stressful experience due to the sudden increase in power and the abrupt elevation of the plane, it is the safety maneuver par excellence when the landing does not meet optimal conditions.

For its part, Lanzarotewebcam highlighted that, “under the effects of storm Therese, Jet2holidays flight LS1111 gave us this nice detail of a touch and go-around maneuver at Lanzarote airport”, highlighting the spectacular nature of the scene captured on video.
