The most awaited night arrived. After two weeks in which the aspirants to Miss Lanzarote and Queen of the festivities have paraded nerves and beauty throughout the Island, last Saturday the 12th the night of the most beautiful was celebrated. Everything began around 10:00 p.m. before an expectant audience, eager to enjoy the party of beautiful faces, when under the tarpaulins of the tent a thunderous noise of striking motorcycles belonging to the members of the Motoclub Los Nómadas was heard, who, on the occasion of the celebration of their X Anniversary, took the candidates and protagonists of the night up to the stage itself.

The attendees remained astonished to contemplate this presentation of the beautiful islanders, who were placed on the stage to parade from a choreography. The giant screens installed in the venue revealed the firms that collaborated with this event. Immediately afterwards, the 17 candidates returned to the stage, this time in swimwear, white bikini, from the Lenita firm, which was the first scoring pass of the night.

The journalist, María Torres, appeared on stage addressing the stalls, where the candidates' relatives were, and asked them some questions related to the night that was being experienced. They were few minutes because the girls soon appeared again on the stage to carry out the first distribution of titles of the night.

The voting, for the first time in a contest, was done by the candidates aloud, while behind them on two giant screens the computations issued by the protagonists were reflected. Finally, Miss Simpatía was chosen, the representative of Caleta de Famara, Cristina Pérez de León, who received the band from the Councilor for Festivities, Encarna Páez.

It was also time to choose Miss Photogenic, a distinction that fell to Patricia Barambio Navarro, representative of Terraza Biosfera Arrecife, who received the band from our colleague and graphic reporter Sergio Betancort. Miss Elegance was the title held by Isabel Martín Pérez, representative of Ercine, who was decorated by the mayor of the capital, Maria Isabel Déniz.

At the end of the first joys for the candidates, a video was broadcast where the protagonists were the 17 beauties. Next, the young ballet from the town of Uga, Dance Pop, entered the scene, which, under the direction of Ruiman Medina, showed ten minutes of various rhythms and choreographies of the moment. As in the highest level functions, there was also a live connection with the back stage. The public could see the ins and outs of the gala, the candidates rushing the last touches in hairdressing and makeup.

Brief questions were asked to the candidates and hairdressers and quickly passed to the members of the jury, who were very surprised because they did not expect the fleeting appearance of Maria Torres, who with just enough time gave way to the last parade in party dress, this time accompanied by several young people embodying the earthly angels.

They posed, for the last time, before the public very slowly, since this was the determining opportunity before the jury. A pass that was very applauded and also marked by the elegance of the candidates.

While the jury deliberated, the night reached one of its highest points, with the performance of the singer Raúl, who performed six songs making a tour of some of his most successful and popular works. With the end of the performance, the 17 aspirants took the stage, carrying a beautiful bouquet of flowers, designed by Manuel fajardo Pérez, to hear the verdict.

First, the titles of first and second lady of honor of the Queen of the Festivities and Miss Lanzarote were distributed, and the proclamation of the winners was left for the end. An explosion of bubbles framed the appointment of Cynthia Rodriguez Asención as Queen of the San Ginés Festivities 2006 and the most awaited title, Miss Lanzarote, went to Isabel Martín Pérez, representative of Ercine, who under a rain of bubbles and silver clippings, received the title from Mario Pérez, vice president of the Cabildo and Yalaydy María Ortega, Miss Lanzarote 2005.

The rest of the awards went to Patricia Barambio Navarro and Sonia Teruel Millán, as first and second lady of the Queen of the Festivities; and Mila Martin Fuentes and Omaira Umpierrez were awarded with equal distinction in the title of Miss Lanzarote. Two hours of gala, presented by Francisco José Navarro and Miss Spain, Sonsoles Artigas, where a marine scenography framed a celebration, which the presenter, knowledgeable of the most important beauty contests, compared with the Miss Spain gala.
