The Island Council continues to carry out improvement works on the Lanzarote road network. On this occasion, the LZ-67 road, which connects Yaiza with Montañas de Fuego, is already being repaved. Sergio Machín, Minister of Public Works, commented that the operators in charge of carrying out the works will be in charge of indicating, with hand signals, the passage through this section, since this road will not be closed at any time so as not to cause inconvenience to drivers.
The Minister of Public Works also announced that in the coming days the improvement works on the LZ-56 road, which connects Mancha Blanca and La Geria, will begin, with which it is intended to improve the visibility of the change of slope, through the widening of the road. Sergio Machín assured that these works will be carried out in a month and that "all these plans have been launched with the main objective of guaranteeing the safety of drivers and improving the road network of the entire Island".
These improvements, and those already made to date, are part of the Road Plan that the Cabildo has launched, with an estimated forecast to execute 110 kilometers in one year and a budget that exceeds 13 million euros.
