The Yaiza City Council corrected the technical project for the execution of works and has again put out to tender the improvement of the urban environment of Papagayo Avenue in Playa Blanca, in the section between the town's church and the Ciudad Jardín roundabout, allocating 3.2 million euros from the municipal budget to repair the pavement, expand parking spaces and install low-consumption luminaires. Companies interested in carrying out these works can submit offers until Thursday, October 2.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, points out that "the rehabilitation of the central artery of Playa Blanca is necessary, since its asphalt is deteriorated by the volume of traffic it supports, but our objective is also to improve the urban environment and for this reason we decided to undertake this comprehensive project with our own resources."
Among the main actions detailed by the Councilor for Works, Ángel Lago, "we include the renovation of the pavement and sidewalks, guaranteeing accessibility through the elimination of architectural barriers, and the installation of new low-consumption luminaires, optimizing energy efficiency and improving the safety of the environment."
The order provides for the creation of two new surface parking areas, in order to facilitate the organization and expand the availability of parking spaces, and the implementation of vertical and horizontal signage, as well as the installation of street furniture and the conditioning of green areas.
