The Management of Sanitary Services of the Lanzarote Health Area has awarded the execution of the renovation project of the Tahíche Local Clinic, for an amount of 441,639 euros. These works have been awarded through a simplified open procedure and ordinary processing, and have an execution period of six months from the signing of the contract and its publication on the Public Sector Contracting Platform.

The intervention includes the complete renovation of the installations and exterior carpentry, respecting the current distribution of spaces. Improvements will also be made to the general accessibility of the center, as well as to the accesses to the toilets and changing rooms. In addition, new technologies and systems based on renewable energy sources will be integrated.

This project is part of the priorities of the Health Services Management of the island, and has been promoted by the need to modernize the facilities - especially with regard to the electrical network - and to improve the accessibility of the building.

The Tahíche Clinic has a total area of 172.87 square meters spread over a single floor. It has two consulting rooms, a treatment room, an exploration room, a waiting room in the reception area, an archive, a warehouse, toilets and changing rooms.

Assistance at the Teguise Health Center

During the time that the works last, which have an execution period of six months, it is planned that the consultation activity of this Primary Care health center will be transferred to the facilities of the Teguise Health Center, in order to guarantee the continuity of health care.

The manager of the Health Services, Pablo Eguia, has highlighted that this intervention will mean a substantial improvement of the facilities, which will positively impact both the quality of care for the 4,011 users and the working conditions of the health and administrative personnel who provide service in the clinic.
