The maritime transport service of Fred Olsen between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura has been suspended this Wednesday after the ship "Bocaina Express" that connects Playa Blanca with Corralejo made the first trip of the day at 8:00 a.m. towards the island of Majorera. Subsequently, the vessel has been diverted to the island of Tenerife, where the company has activated an Emergency Plan after running aground the ship that connects El Hierro, La Gomera and Tenerife. At least, this has been confirmed to La Voz from the shipping company, which stated that, according to their forecasts, the line will be resumed next Friday.

As explained by Fred Olsen, the incident that occurred this Tuesday in the Port of Los Cristianos (Tenerife), in which the ship "Bonanza Express" ran aground for reasons that are still being investigated, is the reason for the cancellation of the line between Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. The "Bocaina Express" is moving to the accident area to provide support to the stranded ship, which was carrying 172 people in addition to 16 crew members.

The company also indicates that all passengers affected by the cancellation of the service this Wednesday have claim forms available, which "will be studied individually".
