The island's capital hosts a pioneering revitalization initiative with the launch of “Arrecife Cultural Network of Neighborhoods” with the vocation of decentralizing the cultural and technological offer, taking it directly to the heart of each neighborhood.
The objective of this action executed by the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa is to promote the participation of citizens and, in parallel, reactivate the commercial fabric of the areas of action.
The project has the economic support of the Vice-Ministry of the Presidency of the Government of Canarias, the collaboration of the Ayuntamiento de Arrecife and the technical execution by OMOW Producciones through its project "More than neighborhoods", led by Rosana.
The project sets as a priority to mobilize the residents of Argana Alta, Maneje, Valterra, Titerroy or Altavista, among other points of the city. The objective is not only to offer free and quality artistic training for all ages, but to generate a flow of people that gives life to the streets and squares, favoring the activity of the small shops and businesses of restoration in each neighborhood. The commercial revitalization actions will seek to highlight the local offer, linking cultural events with consumption in the closest environment.
To achieve this reach, an itinerant mobile unit will travel through the participating neighborhoods, acting as a beacon of creativity and technology. In it, the community will be able to experiment with tools of virtual reality and artificial intelligence. This offer will be reinforced with an agenda of masterclasses, open rehearsals, and festivals that will become social and economic meeting points.
“Arrecife Red Cultural de Barrios” also stands out for its employment aspect, committing to the training and hiring of artists, teachers, and technicians from the island itself. In this way, the investment returns directly to local professionals, reinforcing the cultural and services sector of Lanzarote.
All the information and the pre-registration form for the training activities can already be seen on the official website.
