Fernando González (CC) accuses Soria of "working in favor of the motion of censure" of San Bartolomé de Tirajana

The president of the Canary Coalition (CC) of Gran Canaria, Fernando González, referred yesterday to the motion of censure presented in San Bartolomé de Tirajana by the councilors of Nueva Canarias (NC) and the Socialist Party (PSC-PSOE) to the mayor of the Popular Party, Marco Aurelio Pérez, stating that "it is another piece of data of Mr. Soria's negative policy; if anyone has worked in favor of that motion of censure, it is Mr. Soria," said González.

For González, "the destabilization of the town councils is not good for democratic management", however he considers that "this motion of censure has been thoroughly worked on by Mr. Soria". "He has looked for it and earned it by isolating his party, so the others have no choice but to group together against a gentleman and a party that tries to attack everyone," said the nationalist president, who sentenced this idea with a "he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword."

Fernando González participated yesterday afternoon in the meeting of the Island Executive Committee of the Canary Coalition of Gran Canaria, where an analysis of the current political situation was carried out "determined by the belligerent attitude of the Popular Party since its departure from the Government". According to González, this attitude "has created a totally artificial situation on the island of Gran Canaria, the product of a sectarian and dogmatic policy of its president", José Manuel Soria.

In addition, he considered that it is an "isolationist policy of the Popular Party that is detrimental to them and to Gran Canaria, since it is the first party on the Island and has a duty of responsibility to its citizens."

According to Fernando González, this "policy of confrontation with the Government of the Canary Islands and with the Government of the State, which does not help Gran Canaria or its municipalities in any way, is giving him a painful result that goes from defeat to defeat and we do not know how it will end."

In that sense, he urged the populars "to reflect and work together with the rest of the democratic parties to face the needs of the citizens of Gran Canaria and solve together the challenges that the Island has, which are very important in these years because many policies are going to be defined and everyone has to be counted on."

Regarding the statements made by some businessmen from Gran Canaria accusing the regional government of imbalance, González wanted to clarify that "it is only a part of the business sector that has mistakenly coincided with Mr. Soria's campaign." In this regard, he assured that "that stage has already been overcome, because it has been shown that there is no imbalance and that the Government manages from the budget and will continue to work in the same line."

The meeting of the Island Executive Committee of the Canary Coalition of Gran Canaria held this afternoon in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, is the first of the executive that is held after the Party Congress. It was therefore an executive of constitution and formation of the Executive, in which the distribution of responsibilities of the secretariats and work areas was also ratified. In addition, the work plan of each of them has been planned. "It is an Executive in which most of its members are new," said González.
