The Teguise City Council and the Federation of Agricultural and Fishing Associations (FASAT), with the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands, have presented the program for the V Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing Fair, which will be held from June 4 to 7 at the Agrotechnological Center and will once again position the municipality as a meeting point for the primary sector of the Island.

This event reaches its fifth edition this year, consolidated as one of the great references of the insular calendar after bringing together more than 40,000 people during the last edition, a figure that reflects the growth of an event that has managed to become a meeting space for professionals, producers, associations, families, and citizens.

The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that “this fair is a recognition of all the people who, with effort and daily work, have kept the primary sector alive and have contributed to preserving an essential part of our identity”. She also wanted to thank “FASAT, the municipal departments, associations, collectives, and individuals involved for the work and dedication that make possible an event that continues to grow and consolidate each year as a benchmark for our island”.

For his part, the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, pointed out that “collaboration between administrations and entities is key to continuing to strengthen an essential sector for Lanzarote and La Graciosa, not only from an economic point of view, but also for its social and cultural value and for the role it plays in the conservation of our identity and our landscape”.

Likewise, the president of FASAT, Omar Viñas, highlighted that “the fair continues to grow thanks to collective commitment and the involvement of those who believe in the importance of continuing to make visible and value our countryside and our traditions”.

Program

The V Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing Fair will once again feature a broad and diverse program, aimed at all audiences, with more than a hundred proposals linked to local products, gastronomic experiences, livestock, traditions, dissemination, and innovation.

The fair will open its doors on Thursday, June 4, with the inaugural ceremony and a tribute to young and old people from the primary sector, marking the beginning of four days that will once again turn the Teguise Agrotechnological Center into a meeting point for professionals, producers, families, and visitors.

During the weekend, the venue will remain open from 09:30 hours with continuous programming until the evening. Among the planned activities are visits from schoolchildren and the elderly, workshops, contests, exhibitions, family activities, and professional meetings. This edition also increases its capacity with a greater number of stands and a greater presence of livestock.

Among the novelties are participatory experiences related to the production of local products, butter and cream cheese workshops, milking contests for all ages, new proposals promoted by Saborea Lanzarote, and spaces dedicated to innovation, with initiatives such as the Immersive Digitalization of the Lanzarote Agricultural Environment project, led by Teno Osorio.

Likewise, this fifth edition will focus on the role of women in the primary sector and will feature livestock exhibitions, team handling, tool displays, morphological contests, horse races, exhibitions, and musical performances, reinforcing a program that unites tradition, identity, and future.

Registration for the various workshops will open next Friday, May 29, starting at 09:00 hours. In addition, the complete program can be downloaded and consulted on the website www.fasat.info, where it will be updated with new additions and programming details.

The closing will take place on Sunday, June 7, with the awarding of prizes for agricultural and livestock contests and the official closing of a new edition that will once again position Teguise as a benchmark for the island's primary sector.

The V Fair of Agriculture, Livestock, and Fishing is organized by the Teguise City Council and FASAT, in collaboration with the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Government of the Canary Islands, through GMR Canarias and ICCA. Likewise, this edition also has the commitment and support of CajaSiete, whose involvement contributes to the growth and consolidation of a fair that continues to position itself as a benchmark for the island's primary sector.
