From the union they advanced that other sectors of the public administration are studying to join the call for a total strike that will unite the general claims of all public professionals: Improve the quality of services, change the privatization policy and offer more quality in working conditions.
In this sense, the union explained that the average salary of public administration workers is between 800 and 900 euros, for 37.5 hours worked per week, a working day that they recognize is distorted by including the health sector.
"This has to change, we don't want to continue negotiating as until now. We are not closed-minded, we offer reasoning and dialogue to the Government", explained Luis Piernavieja, union delegate in matters of justice. "They don't practice what they preach, they follow an evasive policy, they use political makeup and a light screen in front of society", he added.
The general strike is an option that will arrive just after a mobilization of all public workers. For Thursday, February 21, they plan to mobilize in the afternoon and reach the Government of the Canary Islands to demand "reasoning and dialogue", because according to Rodríguez "the only language the Government understands is pressure".
Reasoning and dialogue
Both reasoning and dialogue are two words that the Public Administration and the unions make their own. However, solutions do not arrive and they accuse each other of "lack of flexibility". Precisely the IC recalled how the Government of the Canary Islands, in matters of education, did not achieve its purpose of approving the pre-agreement for the teachers of the Canary Islands.
All the Islands voted no, with Fuerteventura being the island with the greatest rejection, with 86 percent, followed by Gran Canaria with 84 percent and Lanzarote with 82 percent of rejection response to the pre-agreement. Tenerife voted against in 68 percent, La Gomera with 59 percent and El Hierro with 67 percent, according to IC data.
For the union "things are clear", but admits that they are capable of yielding, although only in the aspects of delivery deadlines of the benefits and improvements.
