To be able to continue with his complaint against the mayor of Arrecife, Isabel Déniz, for the industrial buildings located in the Tenorio neighborhood. This is the reason given by Eduardo Álvarez after his resignation from the position of president of the Association of Leisure Entrepreneurs, belonging to the Aetur tourism association.

According to Álvarez, some colleagues "told him that he could have problems if he did not withdraw the lawsuit." Faced with this situation, and not knowing if these pressures are true or not "although at first I do not doubt it because those who have transmitted them to me are friends", said the businessman, "I have preferred to irrevocably resign from my position".

ACCUSATIONS

The businessman has lashed out against Isabel Déniz for several reasons. First, he recalled the illegal situation of the warehouses in the Tenorio neighborhood and the problems that their owners have to face. Faced with this problem, Eduardo Álvarez denounced the first mayor and the then Councilor for Classified Activities, Eugenio Hernández.

After the complaint was admitted for processing and was being dealt with in the Arrecife Court, "the mayor, as a parliamentarian, invokes the right of aforamiento and the process is transferred to the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands, which delays everything", explained Eduardo Álvarez. For the moment, the mayor has preferred not to comment, assuring that she is studying this situation with the legal services of the City Council.

On the other hand, Eduardo Álvarez also pointed out that he had hoped to have support from Aetur. "I proposed my resignation to the board of directors and they accepted it without discussion", said the businessman, who also pointed out that if Gerardo Fontes were still in charge of Aetur "I would not be in this situation".
