After the success and good reception that the initiative of the Ministry of Interior and the Local Police of Tías had in establishing the VIDOC mobile documentation unit (Integral Documentation Vehicle), a new date returns to be able to renew the DNI and passport in the Tías town hall itself.

Interested persons must request a prior appointment by calling, in the morning, the Tías Local Police phone number: 928 834 101.

The Tías City Council informs that citizens will be able to process their DNI and passport in the municipality next May 7 thanks to the transfer of the VIDOC Mobile Documentation Unit (Integral Documentation Vehicle) of the National Police.

This initiative, promoted by the Ministry of Interior and developed in collaboration between the National Police and the Tías Local Police, will allow bring an essential service closer to citizens, facilitating the completion of these procedures in a more comfortable, agile way and without the need to travel outside the municipality.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, has positively valued this new day of service in the municipality and has pointed out that “it is very positive news for our neighbors, because it means bringing an important service closer and facilitating usual day-to-day procedures without the need to leave Tías”.

José Juan Cruz adds that “this type of resources contribute to improving citizen service and making administrative procedures more accessible, especially for those people who have more difficulty traveling”.

As reported by the National Police on its website, this system allows carrying out procedures “faster, closer and more efficient”, as it enables the issuance of documents in a single procedure, without the need to subsequently go to a physical office for printing, with the consequent saving of time and resources.

In addition to previously arranging the appointment, interested persons must attend on May 7 with the documentation officially required by the National Police, a recent photograph and the exact amount of the fee in cash, which amounts to 12 euros in the case of DNI issuance and 30 euros for passport issuance, among other requirements established for each procedure.

The new Mobile Documentation Unit was presented in Lanzarote at an event held last December 15 in the Tías City Hall square, presided over by the Government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana; the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz; the chief superintendent of Police of the Canary Islands, Jesús María Gómez; and the island director of the General State Administration in Lanzarote, Pedro Viera.
