The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Lanzarote approved, in a session held on Monday, June 15, to promote two lines of subsidies through competitive bidding aimed at boosting the labor market and fostering social cohesion in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
Both budgetary allocations, which sum a global amount of 601,947.32 euros, seek to directly support the island's socioeconomic fabric through projects of training, tutoring, and socio-labor inclusion.
These allocations are part of the line followed by the island Institution with people who have the most difficulty accessing a job and with those who are committed to materializing new business ideas on our island. In this same vein, the Minister of Training and Inclusive Employment, Ascensión Toledo, stressed "the importance of weaving a comprehensive support network that accompanies, advises, and qualifies our citizens, generating stable, egalitarian, and quality employment".
The first of the proposals, named 'Employability and Labor Insertion 2026', has an economic allocation of 392,266.28 euros. It is specifically designed to collaborate with non-profit entities in the development of individualized pathways, free training actions for people at risk of social exclusion, and measures that promote Dual Vocational Training.
Likewise, it prioritizes the labor incorporation of people with functional diversity and advice to accredit professional experience. Each entity may opt for a maximum of 65,000 euros in subsidies for projects with an execution period until June 30, 2027.
Promotion of Entrepreneurship 2026
On the other hand, the Governing Council gave the green light to the call 'Promotion of Entrepreneurship 2026', endowed with 209,681.04 euros. Its purpose is to stimulate the creation of new companies on the island through comprehensive tutoring, advice, and training services aimed at entrepreneurs. For this line, the maximum subsidizable amount per entity will amount to 40,000 euros. As with the previous allocation, projects will have a maximum duration of 12 months.
In this regard, Toledo pointed out that "this call consolidates our support for local talent, as it not only offers economic support of up to 40,000 euros per project, but also involves comprehensive support with training and advice so that new companies are born with solid foundations and generate stable employment in Lanzarote".
Both calls are part of the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Cabildo of Lanzarote for the year 2026. The application submission period will open the day after the official publication of the extract of the calls in the Official Gazette of the Province (BOP) of Las Palmas. Interested entities will have a period of 15 days to process their application exclusively electronically through the Corporation's electronic headquarters.
