A Lanzarote native, among the best grades in the province of Las Palmas in the PAU 2026

After the nerves of recent weeks, the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria announced this past Friday the results of the University Entrance Exam (PAU) 2026, which more than 750 students from Lanzarote took, 4,590 in the entire province. Among them, Eduardo Enrique Hernández from Lanzarote has achieved one of the ten best scores in the province of Las Palmas.

The student from IES Altavista, in Arrecife, achieved a 9.81 in the exam, and is the only student from Lanzarote to have achieved one of the best scores.

For their part, the best score this year, after achieving a 10 in the general phase exams of the PAU, was obtained by students Laura Falcón, from IES Politécnico de Las Palmas; Rafael Estupiñán, from IES Playa de Arinaga; and Catalina Pimentel, from CEIPS San Antonio María Claret. The three students are from centers in Gran Canaria.

In addition, the ULPGC has reported that 91.9% of the students from Lanzarote who took the exam passed it, making it the third examination center in the eastern province with the highest percentage of passes after the center in the south of Gran Canaria, where 93.1% of students qualified as Pass and the center in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with 92.4% passes.

The rest of the examination centers were the north of Gran Canaria (91.8% Pass), south of Fuerteventura (90.2% Pass), north of Fuerteventura (89.8% Pass), and Telde (87.7% Pass).

 

Passes by branches

•    Science and Technology: 2,362 took the exam, of which 95.3% passed.
•    Humanities and Social Sciences: 1,913 took the exam, of which 87.6% passed.
•    Arts (Plastic Arts, Image and Design track): 146 took the exam, of which 87.7% passed.
•    Arts (Music and Performing Arts track): 87 took the exam, of which 95.4% passed.
•    General Baccalaureate: 82 took the exam, of which 80.5% passed.

On the other hand, the ULPGC has already opened online enrollment for the extraordinary PAU call, the exams for which will be held from June 30 to July 2.
