David Toledo, who was number six on the Coalición Canaria list in the last elections to the Arrecife City Council, will become the party's strongman in the new municipal pact with the PP, which both formations presented this Monday.
Toledo will occupy the first Deputy Mayor's office and the councilorships of Parks and Gardens and Heritage, while the one who was head of the list, Echedey Eugenio, will hold the areas of Health, Internal Regime and New Technologies.
In addition, both will join the Arrecife Governing Board representing Coalición Canaria.
For his part, Jacobo Lemes will be the new Councilor for Local Police, while Encarna Páez will be in charge of Carnival and Popular Festivals and Patrimonial Responsibility.
In addition, Rosmen Quevedo will lead Sports; Abigail González Culture; and Maciot Cabrera Events and Development and Classified Activities.
"We have a lot of time left"
The mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, has taken advantage of the press conference to reiterate the "disloyalty" that, in her opinion, led to the rupture of the government pact with the PSOE, which she maintains was carried out by "matured" and "forceful" decisions of the members of the Popular Party.
In this way, and given the situation of governing in minority, Pérez has stated that the party has decided to form "a new majority", which has been based on this government agreement with Coalición Canaria.
The island secretary of CC, Migdalia Machín, took the floor stressing that her party presented itself to the elections "to govern", and that they have found that space with the Popular Party, putting forward "the interests of the citizens of Arrecife".
Machín has maintained at the press conference that the agreement has been forged after exchanging opinions "on different occasions". "It's 18 months, we have a lot of time left and we are going to set a clear objective that coincides with the objective of the mayor and the PP", said the island secretary of CC, who added that this objective involves "improving the city" and above all contributing "work".
Migdalia Machín stressed that her party has a team "with people with experience", which added to "the experience of the PP", form a combination that results in "the necessary conditions" that are needed to "get the projects forward".
Finally, Machín has stated that those "possible red lines" that existed from the Popular Party before the entry of Echedey Eugenio into the government, have been resolved at the negotiating table of the pact between both formations, which among other things has left the first Deputy Mayor's office in the hands of another councilor.
