Coalición Canaria and the Partido Popular have now publicly confirmed their agreement to govern in the Arrecife City Council, eleven days after the expulsion of the socialist councilors by the mayor, Ástrid Pérez.

Pérez herself, as the island president of the PP, will appear on Monday afternoon together with the general secretary of Coalición Canaria in Lanzarote, Migdalia Machín, to announce the details of this agreement.

The alliance between both formations was taken for granted since the rupture of the pact with the PSOE by the populars, although it will only be able to reach the Arrecife City Council. In the Cabildo, both forces do not add up to the necessary majority to present a motion of censure to the president, María Dolores Corujo.
