In October 2023, the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands announced the execution of the work Expansion of the eco-dining room and connection of classrooms with the main building of the EIP La Garita with an estimated completion period of three months. However, more than a year and a half later, "the works have been inexplicably paralyzed since July 2024," the party denounces.
Compromiso por Haría "deeply regrets the lack of interest and consideration shown by the Ministry and the Island Directorate of Education in the face of this situation, which directly harms the families and students of the center, while demanding the passivity shown by the Haría City Council in the face of this serious delay, considering that it should exert greater pressure to defend the interests of the educational community of Arrieta".
"From CxH, an immediate solution and the prompt reactivation and completion of the work is demanded, given that the school canteen is an essential service that directly impacts the well-being of our boys and girls, therefore it demands that the necessary procedures be expedited for the conclusion of the work, urging that the next holiday period be used so that the canteen can be operational before the start of the new school year," they state.
In addition to the completion of the work, Compromiso por Haría insists on "the urgent need to expedite the acquisition of the necessary equipment and the processing of the relevant administrative authorizations to guarantee the commissioning of the dining room once the works are completed".
