Compromiso por Haría has denounced that the municipality was left without the Local Police service during Christmas days and New Year's Eve. The opposition party has stated that the northern municipality suffers "a surreal situation" and that "the residents were forced to take charge of security."
The political formation has lamented "the public image offered to the residents from the City Council and directly holds responsible" the mayor, Alfredo Villalba, and his Government team for "their poor political capacity that prevents them from moderating the available personnel with accuracy."
Thus, in a press release issued this Friday, they have highlighted that "we know and understand the lack of personnel, but it was never an excuse that prevented solutions, even more so when we are all aware that there has always been a willingness from the Local Police to carry out the services."
CxH has requested that "these incidents do not become habitual, preventing public order from being maintained in the municipality."
Similarly, it has warned that it will take "via motion to the next City Council plenary session to reactivate the proposal for a call for the provision of personnel for the Local Police through replacement of free shift positions, with this it will be possible to progressively reinforce the staff of an essential service for the municipality that has been reduced in recent years."
