Coalition Canaria accuses the socialists of backing down and changing their minds about taking the CACTS audit to the Prosecutor's Office

According to the nationalists, "with this simplicity the socialists undermine the overwhelming conclusions" emanating from the opinion issued by the professor of criminal law, D. Miguel Olmedo, and in which, based on the KPMG audit, he affirms the possible commission of "a significant number of crimes including: prevarication, illegal appointments, embezzlement of public funds, bribery, etc.".

"Perplexed", this is how the members of Coalición Canaria claim to have been after learning about "the socialists' sudden change of opinion, who until the same Friday wanted to file a complaint against the managers of the Art, Culture and Tourism centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote during the years 1997-2004 (period in which the PSOE-PIL tandem governed)".

For Coalición Canaria, "the 180-degree turn that the socialists are taking" with respect to sending the documentation of the aforementioned audit to the Prosecutor's Office has no other explanation than "the ear-pulling they may have received from some of their candidates and heads of lists to various island and local institutions, be it Enrique Pérez Parrilla or Marcial Martín". Two politicians who, as CC points out, during the audited time occupied on the one hand the Presidency of the Cabildo and on the other the direction of the Centers of Art, Culture and Tourism and, whose management, will now be submitted to the investigation of the Public Prosecutor.

Finally, the nationalists describe as "unheard of" the third point of the statement made public by the PSOE, in which they claim to show their doubts regarding whether the complaint will be admitted for processing, considering that in the event that it is admitted, most likely, the proceedings that are carried out would lead to its dismissal". Coalición Canaria understands that the socialists "do not believe in the independence of the judiciary". The nationalists also doubt, based on this statement from the Socialist Party, "the coincidences that may occur in the remainder of the campaign".
