On the eve of the meeting to be held this morning by the General Directorate of Labor of the Government of the Canary Islands, representatives of Aena and the works council of the ground staff of the Lanzarote airport, the Federation of Communication and Transport of the Canary Islands Workers' Commissions has issued a statement in which it indicates that León Fajardo, the spokesperson for the strike committee, and the members of the same "are not authorized to speak on behalf of Workers' Commissions" because these people "are neither spokespersons for the union, nor does the union share their attitude or point of view".
The Federation intends to put an end to the "misunderstanding" that has been occurring by these people subrogating "a representation that not only does not belong to them, but has also been disauthorized by the Air Sector of Workers' Commissions, whose powers extend throughout Spain, and by the Federation of Communication and Transport of the Canary Islands Workers' Commissions, which is competent to call strikes at a regional level." The Federation understands that both León Fajardo and the members of the strike committee act "in their individual capacity and representing themselves", so they are "completely unauthorized to do so in the name of the union".
