Coalition Canaria has denounced that only two of the six summer schools in San Bartolomé continue to be open. The nationalist party denounces that, "barely ten days after a whole staging of the mayor and his government group, with press releases and videos visiting with great fanfare" are "only two of them managed by sports entities" that continue to be operational, "which affects the work-life balance of many families in the municipality".

The nationalist formation criticizes that the only two summer schools organized by the City Council - one based in San Bartolomé and the other in Playa Honda - "have only opened four weeks of the eleven that the summer has, which leaves in simple propaganda the message sent by the mayor during those visits assuring that the City Council guarantees the right to education in equal conditions and with an integrating perspective".

The municipal spokesperson for CC, David Rocío, echoes "the many calls made by residents demanding that the City Council finance summer schools with some subsidy, managed by groups in the municipality in order to reduce their tuition cost, which can be twice as high as the schools managed directly by the council, due to the lack of aid".

Even, adds Rocío, "it has happened that some parents have been forced to stop working in August to be able to care for their children, given the need for special care required by the minor and for not being able to afford the expense that this care would generate privately".

Coalition Canaria proposes therefore that the City Council of San Bartolomé "collaborate with the summer schools managed by sports clubs and other groups in the municipality so that they can lower their prices and provide from the end of classes in June until they start again in September the important service they offer".

This would facilitate, concludes the nationalist formation, "the reconciliation between the workload of parents and the care and attention that their children require in months in which they can acquire healthy attitudes and develop their creativity by having more free time".
